I fell in love with genes on the river years ago. My favorite place to go. Just wish they were open on Monday evening. They always make you feel welcome. Our grandchildren loved to come and feed the ducks. We enjoy the river view and also the food. We have always had a nice family experience there.

This is a wonderful place to eat. It is always welcoming and the waitresses are so friendly and helpful. They also have some great catering. This would be a wonderful place to hold a family reunion or birthday or anniversary party. The view of the river is beautiful.

we are new to area so found this place on line, just went there. Looks good, very nice inside, staff very nice. Because I could not pull up menu I called asked what they have and hours and days they are open, they told me all the stuff and they had seafood, some of the best catfish around. View of river from dining room. Well i really wanted catfish. We both ordered seafood platter, catfish, devil crab, butterfly shrimp, conocnut shrimp, scollops, claims, $15 not bad price. All of the food on platter taste like frozen pre-batter food, shrimp, catfish(only ate 2 bites it was horrible), all of it was horrible. Claims looks like left over crumbs of something. scollops were tough and tasteless. Here is nothing wrong with a place buying frozen seafood un-battered, you fresh batter it, at least season it and cook it fresh. I am sure all veg are canned or frozen too, i didn't have any. It is a shame to have such a perfect place and then just serve quality of fast food. I would have paid 30$ for seafood platter if is was actually cooked and battered fresh. Plus they do not serve bar drinks not even beer. Wish i would have just cooked my own shrimp at home.
so far Ezell's catfish cabin is the best seafood we gave had in Ala. We are from Fla. Maybe ppl just don't know what fresh seafood really taste like here.

Went there for a family reunion. The Service was great the food was great. My wife loved the carmel pie so in Nov. I am going to take her back for a date without the rest of the family. Married people need to go on a date sometime

Nice rustic styled restaurant with a nice daytime river view. Ive ate there several times and the food is always good. Place is always clean and the prices are reasonable.
