They used to be so good, and now they have gone down hill within the last year sadly. On February 24th, 2023, I held a family gathering at Monroe's on Osuna, and brought some family who had never been to Monroe's before, all while bragging about how seriously good the food was. I ended up with my foot in my mouth because the food and the experience was definitely nowhere near as good it used to be. One family member ordered the Carne Adovada Stuffed Sopapilla, it was cold in the center, and it didn't have cheese on it although that was requested. Another family member ordered the ice cream and fried dessert, she wanted dessert for dinner, the rest of the family got their food and she ended up waiting 15 minutes after every one else started eating before she got her ice cream dish. I ordered the combination enchilada dish, blue corn tortilla option with Christmas style (red and green chile), the combination plate is supposed to come with a combination of ground beef, chicken, and carne adovada enchiladas. My dish had no Chile on it at all, two of the enchiladas were ground beef the other was chicken, I had to send it back and have it re-made. The sopapillas were rubbery and hard to chew, and our server was hard to get ahold of, although he was nice. My family members who were new to the experience were not impressed. We spent a couple hundred dollars there altogether that time, I'm unlikely to go back or recommend it after that experience. I'm so disappointed with the overall experience.
