Sorry to say I would never go back to this place. This is second time there and 2nd bad experience due to the rude waiter. Same waiter both times upstairs Shame, since food was good. But no reason to go where you are rudely treated

Somebody call restaurant impossible, this place needs help. Some guy in a dirty grey sweatsuit greeted me at the door, apparently an employee. I sat at the bar and looked over the ridiculously huge menu. At least 50 different items on the menu. There is no way to cook 50 dishes effeciently or well. I have worked in the restaurant biz, it cannot be done. Portions were outrageously big. Pare down the menu, reduce portion size, fire the old guy in the sweatsuit or tell your employees to update their resumes.

I wish anyone could spend just one day working in this place! If u think ur current job sucks please become a part of our team because we will show you what a sucky job is really like! There's no manager or anyone to encourage your good work all you have to look forward to is doing the most work for the littlest pay and respect. Oh advancement you ask? There's no such thing but instead they will probably cut your hours and give another employee a raise just because they've worked there for a month. Way to go management keep up the good work! Try being in the restaurant every once in a while to see what your staff is really like... Try talking to customers to see who's good and who's not try talking to employees to see who's good and who's not... Just TRY putting an interest forward!!!

incredible! my wife and out employees reserved a table to sit down and relax for the night and enjoy some drinks....

they were there 2.5 hours and the waitress, RUDELY said she was sorry but the bartender was working a double and wanted to go home. HUH?

She kept stopping by and taking their glasses and saying that she needed to wash them to get out early....then FINALLY when they were leaving mentioned, 'they are open downstairs'..

guess who will never take their staff there again!?!?

Terrible place to eat!! Nachos sucked, forgot things we ordered. Had to get up and find a waitress for silverware to start eating my microwaved filet... Yes microwaved! They didn't have a few things we ordered. Nice looking place but now I know why it was empty.... Never go there!!

I'm truly sorry that all the bad reviewers didn't like it at Chess & Checkers. I went there for the first time today for lunch and our meal was fantastic! Ate the Chessy Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and the spinach dip for an appetizer. The Spinach Dip was the best I've ever had (and I'd had it a LOT!). The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection. I usually don't get french fries when I go out but I did and although they didn't look that good, they tasted fantastic!

The service was good and I could only eat half the cheeseburger because the portions are so big. I'd definitely will go back again.

Pros: Good Crab cakes, wings and beer.
Cons: Could stay open a little later on Sundays and start a web site with full menu.

Do not go to this restaurant! I was staying in a local hotel 100 yards away from the restaurant. I was wondering why none of the hotel staff even mentioned this place. When I asked about it, they all told me not to go there, stating, bad service, rude employees, and bad food. The only good thing they said was the crab cakes were good. I decided to check out the place for myself, and order some hot wings and chili. How could they mess that up I thought. Well they did. Here is what I found when walking over to collect my food order. The parking lot and side walks were untreated after a snow storm. Everything was icy. I actually almost fell in the parking lot. The hot wings were twice cooked once deep fried and once microwave, They were almost inedible. I ordered a bowl of chili and got a cup of chili. I noticed there were no patrons at the bar and only 1 waitress for about 30 people in dining room.

Worst place to go to. The hotel staff was right about them. Horrible!
