Theyv have both Chinese and American style food on the menu. I've eaten the Chinese food. Haven't ventured to America yet.

I will not argue that their staff can be rude, service slow and customer service at times non-existent. That being said, it is the best Asian food in town and has been for decades. (They really should do something about the manner in which they treat customers.)

Picked up lunch, ordered over the phone. Mediocre food, the chicken in the chicken chow main was some kinda processed food item? Definately not chicken and totally discusting! As always the have the worst service3 of any restaurant in town. I mean actually A holes! This willl probably be the last time I ever eat from there again. The food used to be outstanding...service has always been crap, but at least the food was good...not anymore!

Called in a pick order and waited 20 mins just to give them a little bit of extra time. Went to the place and waited in line 20 mins, the waitress said to take a seat. I took a seat and waited another 30 mins. She said no one called in an order and I proved and said is this your phone number. She Said yes! She asked around in Chinese and one lady said yes she take order but forgot write down. The waitress said wait another 15 mins. I just said whatever I'm not waiting and worse service ever!

I have been eating at the Rice Bowl since the mid 1950's. The food is just as good today as it was then. The service has always been top notch and the same people are still running the place! I put them in a special league and rank them with the great restraints of Anchorage like the Club Paris, The Chef's Inn, The Chinese Kitchen, The Lucky Wishbone and the Double Muskie in Portage. They were also around when the Bagota was still in existence so we are lucky to still have them.

We've never seen such rude staff! My fiancee and I went to the Rice Bowl last night hoping to have a nice steak dinner. The food here is very good, or used to be; it had been a long time since we were here.. We used to come here many years ago. His family was locally renown and raved about the steak, especially.They were favorite customers year after year. They're gone now but we wanted to see if the Rice Bowl was as good now as in the past.
Ha! Are you kidding???? When we got seated the waitress literally threw the menus at us without so much as a greeting. We never got a chance to speak to her or any other staff person again. They conveniently forgot we were there! The waitresses hurrying past our table paid us no mind.Wouldn't even look our way. Finally, after several minutes, we got up and left. Very disappointing! We won't be going back again after being treated so shoddily.

They have excellent chow mein. Their rice bowl special is delicious - especially if you order it spicy. mmm, mmm.
