**UPDATE*** I ran into this man later in the evening, and I called Uber Eats directly ( because I wanted to give them a compliment about how calm he was about the entire situation and how well he handled it with Honeycutt Coffee ).
Per the response to Jeremy from the Owner, they stated they called uber because they did not know what to do after someone canceled the order and walked out, they were told that Jeremy had had many issues before and that this was not the first time there was a complaint about this driver!
The customer support agent stated that Jeremy has a 96% overall rating, is a Diamond Member, and has no record of anyone calling in complaining about his service, attitude, or anything.
Therefore the owner's response is 100% False! Jeremy was honest about the interaction, and after speaking to him, he stated as did Uber, that Uber does not notify the drivers of when the order is placed by the customer, nor how many other drivers denied the order, NOR does Uber advise how long the order has been sitting waiting to be picked up! Uber Drivers are not held responsible for when the establishment starts to prepare the order for pick up ( in this case, Honeycutt). The owner of the establishment is the one who chooses to start the order (s) and get them ready for pick up..
Furthermore, the owner goes on to say there was no one else, aside from other employees in the building, when Jeremy arrived, so which is it Owner was it just you and him? You, employees, and him?
Also, the driver is NOT told when the business closes, decides to close early, or has unforeseen issues that prevent them from remaining open, they only know that the business is open/closed once they arrive!
So, therefore, you should not hold him accountable for you closing the time you did! The thing that bothered me about this whole thing was that you scolded him and then told him to take the order AFTER he had canceled, which, according to Uber, he has the right to do for ANY reason!
***This is a warning to ALL uber/doordash/delivery drivers.***
I witnessed the most disgusting most unprofessional, disrespectful way in which I was taken back and decided then a there that I will NEVER EVER do business with such a place ever again
As I was coming into the parking lot and making my way to the HoneyCutt Coffee, I pulled the door open to the business and what I heard next still makes me very angry and appalled that anyone could treat another person in such a manner
The following words were heard from a women inside, I would assume it was the owner or manager, stating that she wanted to know why the driver/delivery person was late in picking up and order, I heard the man try to explain the reason, and she responded "THAT is no excuse or reason to be late". The man gave a valid excuse as he was running behind due to some road closures in the area and the woman was not hearing it, he then stated that he would simply cancel the order and as he walked out the door, she yelled "BUT WAIT, the order is right here" QUICK, call the customer".
i am taken back that those words that the driver heard were very rude and disrespectful to hear, I did see a few other people in the dining area, I am unsure who they were ( ie customers, employees etc), however, I, as a manager myself, would be completely embarrassed in the way I spoke to a driver/delivery person.
The man drove away and I never did ask him what happened, I could only assume that he was doing the best he could and to be degraded by a person who worked/owned the business, shook him up as well.
I would highly suggest that anyone who delivers/drivers etc NOT to do business with such a place!
That woman should be ashamed of herself!
