Great food. Friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. We love to go there. The food is always good hot and you get a lit on your plate. The homeade desserts are made from scratch and they are so delicious. I always bring home leftovers. There is so much food I can't eat it all at one time. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Very good but do not order what they call gumbo. This is a real gumbo recipe.(don’t forget the rice)
1 large fryer chicken (3 to 4 lb), skinned
1 lb of hot smoked sausage
One 4 oz pack of dried shrimp (soaked in 2 cups of warm water)
1 cup cooking oil
1 cup flour
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
3/4 tsp creole seasoning
1-1/2 gallons of water (cold)
1 tbs of chopped onion tops end parsley
Cut up fryer chicken, remove skins. Wash chicken, drain water. Season chicken, set aside.

Make roux by browning flour in hot cooking oil until the flour is very brown, but not burned. A roux takes constant stirring over medium heat as it browns, lower heat. When desired color is reached, immediately remove from the hot burner to a cold one or roux will bum. Continue to stir roux until it stops frying.

In a large pot, add cold water and roux. Let roux dissolve as it comes to a boil over medium heat. Add seasonings except parsley and onion tops. Let mixture come to a boil again until vegetables are limp. Add chicken, sausage and dried shrimp with water to gumbo pot. Let gumbo cook over medium heat about 1 to 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

The gumbo is cooked when grease (oil) rises above the gumbo liquid. Skin excess grease from the gumbo pot. Chicken should be tender but not failing off the bone. Check to see it gumbo is seasoned enough, if more is needed, add creole seasoning to suit your taste.

Simmer gumbo on low heat. Add onion tops and parsley. Gumbo file' may be added to gumbo bowls if desired. Serve over mounds of hot rice, potato salad and parsley, buttered French bread.

Ordered a large bowl of Gumbo and when I got back to the Hotel I opened up my gumbo and “Where’s the Rice”. Very disappointed there was no rice just a bowl of soup with a few baby chunks of meat that my 60 pound 7-year old daughter could eat. I am still hungry and now I have to hit the Wendy’s so I can get something of substance after finishing a 12 hour truck route to feed the Covid-19 freak show. Thanks Jaimey!!!!

I am not impressed with their food. Fried chicken was good but the $10.50 price for it was too much. Ate there Thanksgiving too and was very disappointed. Won't do that again.

Best food in Harrison! I have been working in Harrison for several weeks, and eat out nearly every day as a result. Jamie's is the best I have found. From the hungry-man style Harrison Burger to the delicious macaroni and cheese, everything I've had there has been good! Try this one.

It's a shame that the only reviews on this page are negative ones. At this point 93% of the customers have been happy with the food and service at Jamie's. I have been eating there ever since it opened and have been impressed with the choices and the quality. do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Stopped here after a long travel day during Christmas. Took about 6 minutes to be greeted and seated. The young lady who brought our drinks never made eye contact or smiled. We wanted to try "the best fried chicken in the state, were told by server it would take 20 min and they would close at 8pm. The time was 715 PM. Wanted us to order something else. We left.

We ate the breakfast bar which was cold and poorly stocked. My main issue is the staff they tend to smile friendly but after that ignore you and if you say anything porrly towards the food or service that ends all speech to you. I think if someone is telling it wasn't as good as the first time should be taken as feedback to work on improvement. I wouldn't recommend it if you want good friendly servers.
