They rang up a rodeo cheeseburger, value fry and small water as a combo accidentally. It was $3.06 more than if rang up separately. I went in for a refund. Drive thru rep completely realized the error. Brian, the assistant manager, started off with, “…really going to request a refund for $3.06?” I let him know if it all rang up to that price, when those items are ordered separately, that I would pay for it with no issue. I let him know if he was re-ringing it up that he needed to make it a large water since that is what I ordered. He tried to argue that the $3.06 increase was for the large water. It literally said small water on the receipt so that didn’t even make sense. My only request was that it be rang up properly and I be refunded whatever difference. He said it was impossible to ring up a large water. He said I was getting you the refund but since you want to argue I’m not going to do it. He told me that I’d have to speak with a store manager. He proceeded to get the store phone but wanted me to go outside with him to an area with no cameras to talk on the phone. I told him I’d step in the hallway area if he didn’t want me in the lobby but that I wasn’t going somewhere without cameras with him. He decided to complete the refund. Before providing the funds, he said you need to leave the store now. I told him that I would as soon as I was refunded for the correct amount. He proceeded to throw the money on the counter with over $1 in change. I let him know he had provided more than what was required in the refund. He said he didn’t care then walked out of the store. An Assistant Manager should act more professional. The fact he became so disgruntled just from something being rang up wrong is crazy. He should also not be asking customers that he is becoming hostile with to go off camera with him. I’ll never be back to that location. Bottom line, charging $3.06 for a small water was incorrect but he couldn’t wrap his head around that. All he had to do was refund the order. Ring it up individually and I would have paid for the correct amount. There was absolutely no reason for it to have to escalate other than the fact that Brian clearly can’t handle customer concerns.
