Top Reviews of Chef Lee

review_stars 04/16/2014 - Unhappy Customer on 4/16/2014
We have been ordering food from Chef Lee for many years. It used to be delicious. We have always ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Orange Chicken and Crab Ragoons. Tonight, we ordered as usual to pick up. Over the phone the lady acted like she understood everything ordered. Sent my spouse there to pick up and when he came home, we were missing all egg rolls and white rice that comes with each platter. I thought since I live in Fianna how I'd just call and correct this. I called and just explained that the white rice and egg rolls were missing from our orders then the lady argued with me saying I didn't ask for them (they are part of the platters) so I tried explaining this to her as we have ordered from Chef Lee for years, then the woman acted like she didn't understand me....what's worse is she just hung up on me. I tried calling back three times but no answer (it was 6:30pm). I was furious by that point because it was so rude for her to just hang up on me when I was just requesting to have the white rice and egg rolls for me to pick up. So I drove to Chef Lee and there she is surprised to see me and on the phone with her sister (one of the owners). I picked up the menu and pointed to the platter section of the menu. I was so mad but remained decent. The lady handed me the phone to her sister and the sister explained how the woman at the register didn't understand everything yet and how they would give me the white rice and egg rolls. By this time, I didn't even care so much about the rice and egg rolls as much as I did being hung up on. I explained to the owner over the phone how rude it was for her sister to hang up on me, how the orders were messed up and I was overcharged because I was charged more to begin with (Should have been charged 7.75 platter, 7.95 platter, 4.95 ragoons but my spouse paid 25.90? Even with 10% tax that is overcharging)! The owner only said she would give us the rice and egg rolls. Ummm how about the money you owe me, too? Well, guess, they felt it was more beneficial to keep my little money than to keep me as a customer. I told the owner I would NOT be back and how sad it was because our family were loyal customers and have been for years; the owner even came to me once to ask about her loan letter with the bank and asked me to help her understand so it is not like I'm just some fly-by-night customer, I was there often. I wanted to voice my opinion about how I feel about the entire situation. Oh and the food? It was greasy, overly cooked and not like it used to be, that is an honest answer despite my being upset with Chef Lee restaurant. I won't deal with a thief or rude treatment especially when we are paying our hard earned money for something, not to mention the chef they had this evening on 4/16/14 was not serving up the best food at all.
