With over 7 million people living in metropolitan Atlanta obviously you'll find a restaurant on every single block. In recent years though we've had a plethora of "Soul Food" joints pop up the most known are Peach Cobbler and the more superior the Collard Green Cafe'.

Their tagline is the most appropriate you'll ever find, "You won't find a Can-opener in our kitchen!!" Being a vivid Seafood lover I browsed the menu online before coming in to try the Trout and was stunned. Absoutely fresh-fresh and I'd know with sides like sweet potatoes and signature Collard greens prepared with smoked turkey you'd find only at Thanksgiving Dinner in an upscale African-American household.

Extremely busy it would be smart to browse their menu but trust me once you eat the food, only then you'll understand why the Collard Green Cafe' is by far the most superior "Soul Food" restaurant in the Atlanta metropolitan area, hands down!

Sincerely, Nelson Jones Rock photographer

Came in for lunch on yesterday. Staff greeted with warmth. Enjoyed my mashed potatoes, turkey wings and Mac and cheese.

The food was off the chain! We're visiting from out of town and what we had was smack your momma good.

Just left the Collard Green Cafe. Drove over 40 minutes to get there. Very disappointed with the food. It appeared to be old food. Saturated in grease and cold. The Ribs were hard, cold burnt and looked like they'd been there since the weekend. Oxtail were Burnt and sitting in a tray of grease. The commercials on TV are all a lie. The only thing worth ingesting in this place was the ICE TEA and it wasn't that good. Will never visit those place again. $38 dollars down the drain. Should try cooking Hotdogs and Burgers. Did not even eat our food. Just left. DISAPPOINTED 😞

Turkey wings, collard greens, red velvet cake, mac and cheese were delicious! First time here and not the last time.

All I can say is that it is the worst food I've ever put in my mouth! I am a southern country girl and I CAN COOK! Soul food/southern/country cooking comes naturally for me. For a restaurant to have the name: "Collard Green Cafe," you would expect that the namesake, signature dish to be the "bomb." NOT! The collard greens were not done. They were not seasoned but pepper. They were tough and full of hard stems. And, I had to chew them forever. I finally had to spit them out. The Mac "n" cheese-horrible; the butter beans horrible because the try to do too much to the veggies; too many crazy spices. They are trying to "gourmet up" soul food. You don't do that. I want my butter beans to taste like butter beans and my mac 'n' cheese to taste like mac 'n' cheese. And to think that I spent $16 for a 4 veggie plate of the wiorst veggies on earth! I don't know about the meats but they need me to cook those veggies. All the veggies. Run, run away.

Do no waste your time driving to Tucker. The Mac and cheese was too salty, The catfish was half fried and collard greens was not good. A friend and I dove from Cobb County after we were told the food was so good. The price was high. We were so disappointed.

We like to eat here at least a couple of times per month. This place would be the best if the workers functioned like the owner.

Okay...I must add the Thanksgiving Fried Turkey to my review...it was the worst ever. Dry, hard, cold, flavorless. Taste like they cooked it last month. Waste of time money and tastebuds.🤢

Come on now! Definitely not a 5-star restaurant. They are hit or miss. The meats are typically good. I like the mac and cheese when it's right, but each time I've gone lately, it's been barely edible. The taste is off--badly! Prices are high. Collard greens are okay. Cakes have been consistently delicious.
