The reopening of Chris's Charcoal Pit in Edgewater brought a flood of familiar flavors and warm memories, even as the bustling crowd tested the patience of those eager to dive into their favorite dishes. Though the service moved slowly and some menu items were temporarily unavailable due to the rush, the authentic Greek cuisine-especially the gyros, dolmades, and hearty combo plates-remained as flavorful and generous as ever. Seeing the resilience of this family-run restaurant after the tornado, with its bright white walls adorned in Greek art, fills me with hope and excitement for many meals to come.
