Top Reviews of Loco Hombre

review_stars 12/23/2013 - Dissatisfied.
So I’ve never written a bad review but I need to share the unprecedented [awful] experience I just had at Loco Hombre/Alonso’s. For the past three years, my sisters, female cousins, and grandma have gone to this restaurant after enjoying the lights in Hampden. Aside from an inedible brownie last year, we’ve never had issues.

This time however, the food and customer service were equally atrocious. Out of 7 adult orders, ONLY 1 WAS EDIBLE. I’ve never in my life sent a dish back to the kitchen but my vegetable burrito came out with chicken, which I clearly did not order. When it was fixed, the rice was OVERCOOKED and the vegetables UNDERCOOKED. I’ve also never left a dish unfinished or left a restaurant without a to-go container but I ate less than half before giving up. IT WAS JUST THAT BAD.

Both of my sisters ordered mussels that were raw and undercooked. My cousin’s burger, which was ordered medium came out pink and bloody, while my 86-year old grandmother also ordered a medium burger and was given a hockey puck.

We’ve all had bad restaurant experiences and they are easily fixed with good customer service. Their managerial staff is absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL and their conduct was UNACCEPTABLE. We had “Cat,” a passive aggressive hipster, and Denise, an argumentative leggings-wearer.

Our party was filled with current and former waitresses so we were polite in voicing our complaints, and just wanted to be compensated for our dissatisfaction. Upon hearing our complaints, the managers [who traveled in pairs] ARGUED WITH US and defended the kitchen.

Cat walked away from our conversation and threw her arms in the air. Completely unprofessional.

Denise condescendingly argued with us on the quality of the mussels and burgers and ONLY OFFERED TO TAKE HALF THE PRICE OFF of my grandma’s burger. It is absolutely not right to nickel and dime an 86 year old woman, so we asked if she could take the full price off of our check. In response, Denise said she “tested it and found the inside to be soft” and that “a good portion of it was eaten.” As in maybe three bites.

Needless to say, they have lost the business of my family and anyone else we can warn against this restaurant. All we took away from Loco Hombre was a $142 bill, empty stomachs, and impending diarrhea.
