Top Reviews of Brownstone Coffee

review_stars 12/17/2018 - Nancy
I once wrote this after they opened. Sad to hear they are closed. Many of us rely on a good cup of coffee to kick start our day. With the recent May of 2007 opening of Brownstone Coffee, located in The Courtyard business complex in Nampa, coffee lovers have a warm and friendly place to get a great cup of 'joe' and a whole lot more!

Brownstone Coffee started as the vision of two sisters - Marti Dillon and Roschelle Vieira. For years, the two would drive around Nampa together on errands and would often remark to one another when they passed an empty building or vacant lot, "That would be a good place for a coffee shop." And that was as far as it went. Time went by and one day a year-and-a-half ago, they decided that they didn't want to turn 80-years-old and realize that they didn't follow their dream. So, they began researching the coffee business in earnest. They wanted to provide the best roasted coffee that they could find and after taking a look (and taste) of various coffee roasting companies they went with Zoka Coffee Roaster & Tea Co. of Seattle, WA.

Zoka concentrates on world-class coffees coupled with unrivaled training while offering the finest equipment available. And after an intensive training period, both sisters became well-qualified Baristas. Zoka is particular about their beans, so they even came to Nampa to help train Marti and Roschelles' employees in the proper way to prepare their products. With this much support behind them, the sisters opened up with great confidence in becoming Nampa's premium coffee purveyor.

When asked what sets Brownstone Coffee apart from the competition, Marti said, "Our coffee is the very finest quality and the freshest you can get. It is shipped overnight from Zoka in small batches. Then, our beans are ground right in front of you - to order."
And if that wasn't enough, Brownstone also offers some wonderful pastries to go with your coffee. Choose from a delectable array of yummy pastries, most of which are baked on premise, such as scones, muffins, cookies, cinnamon rolls, apple walnut cake, and the most flavorful lemon bars you've ever tasted! Try the scrumptious Brownstone signature cake - "gooey butter cake." No explanation needed with a name like that! It has to be sinfully rich!

But if sweet treats aren't your thing, Brownstone always has a nice selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads to choose from. They also have a modest breakfast menu but plan on expanding that come Fall. Wherever they can, they provide as healthy drinks and foods as possible. For instance, their fruit smoothies are 100% fruit and juice. No nasty additives and such. Just good, wholesome ingredients.

So, grab a couple buddies and head down for a drink and a bite. Linger for awhile or hit the drive-thru. Bring your boss in for a surprise treat! The sisters would love to have you think of them as an evening coffee and dessert watering hole! Any way you look at it, it's a good thing!
