Wow She is now 57 Years & Still Serves the Same Great Foods Eddy Dreampt of Serving back in 1966!
Eddy's History of Little Bavaria Restaurant:
The History of Little Bavaria Restaurant
Eddy had a Dream a long long time ago, He was Logging out
in the Bush for McMillan Bloedel back in the Late Fifties Early 1960's.
Going to work in the Cold and Dark of the Early Morning
and getting home in the Cold and Dark of the early evenings 6:00 p.m.
Having Dinner watching a show with his Three Children and off to bed often before them to repeat it all the very next Day.
Now during the really wet and Rainy Cold days Eddy had a Dream.
He often told his crew mates;
" One Day I will have my Own Restaurant!"
Then I will never go logging in the Woods again.!!
For weekends Eddy
would go to various Hotels and Bars around Port Alberni and
Bartend to make enough Money to Feed Clothe and look after Three Kids,a Beautiful wife and himself.
Always saying;
"One Day I will get a Restaurant Started in
this very Town".
Now his wife and kids heard that often,but finally the time came when in September of 1966 a Restaurant was going bankrupt because
nobody liked what was served and even fewer people liked the " Woman in Charge " of it. After they Closed in Late August
Eddy and his wife Gina made their move and Managed to get a lease on the very spot to allow Eddy's Dream to be Born.
Little Bavaria was her name
and she first opened her
Doors to the Public on September 6th,1966
where anyone and everyone who ever worked there can tell you;
"They were virtually Run Off Their Feet with the Business of the Restaurant that served Great German Home Cooked Meals
for very Little Money.
Eddy Sold Little Bavaria in
1984 to Paul & Manda Huber.
Manda sold it to
Kathy Kzrarniac in 1994
and Kathy Fixed it all up & then Bought the Entire Building in
February 6th,2012 she
Then had Her Husband Joe redo all the old Legion Floors new and Fresh & Created a Bavarian Center instead of a Legion and Kathy sold it to Braeden Ford in 2021
and still Today She Still
Has the Same great Food
and Atmosphere. The
Whole new outer look
and Upstairs Remodel is
Now for larger Parties or Celebrations one can also Rent it all out For Weddings,
Graduations,
Funerals.Full Kitchen is Upstairs too.
**She now has Her Fourth Owner Braeden Ford is
Master Chef as She Still Serves the Public At 57 Years old & the LAST Original Restaurant in Port Alberni that was the Very FIRST to be Allowed a Liquor License to Sell Beer in 1968
& Fine Wines in 1969.*
Still same Phone Number too
250.724.4242.
Reservations are a Must!

The only thing I find that is wrong with this place is it,s not big enough, The food is amazing and the staff are great you fill up fast and it,s hard to get in, there is a reason this place has been open for over 50 year,s cause it,s the best thank you so much for being here
