Website hours say they close and 9:30pm. Arrived at 9:10 and they sent us away and had everything shut down. Very disappointed and it ruined my dads 50th bday evening

Thought we would try Gilligans for the first time. There was absolutely no evidence that we were in a Pandemic. Although staff wore face masks, but no gloves and no sanitizing station to be seen or evidence of the staff being COVID-19 aware. Ice cream was served in a dish although we ordered a cone. We were ask, after questioning why we got a bowl, did we want a cone. The cone was taken directly from the dispenser with bare hands, no napkin protection and stuck on top of our ice cream bowl. Had to ask for napkins. The credit card machine was not sanitized after each use. Although the ice cream was good and the price was fair, we will not be returning. Staff was slow to react to a lineup of customers. Perhaps some staff training is in order, and even more importantly, some management training as well. The young kids were polite, just so untrained.

We have been coming to Penticton for a Family Reunion for over 25 Years. We always go to Gilligans Ice Cream when we are there. This year was absolutely TERRIBLE. Staff were very snooty and could care less about their customers. Their hours are posted yet they shut down early every night. Staff told us it’s because the management didn’t want them working too late???? It’s summer for heavens sake. They aren’t 10 yrs old. They ran out of Ice Cream twice and they overcharged us each time we were there. If it’s New Management they had better get their act together as we were talking with other people and they all felt the same changes that have taken place here.
A very disappointed customer.
