I frequent this establishment fairly often and always have excellent, friendly service. However, in the week before Christmas I stopped in for supper on my way home from work in Fernie and the experience was one of the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. After I had ordered and waited a very long time for my meal to arrive, another couple were seated and ordered long after I had, but received their meal. Naturally, I asked the waitress when I could expect my dinner to show up as I had ordered my food before the other couple were even in the restaurant. She got very pissy with me and said she would check, but to be patient as they were busy. There was one table of six who already had their food, and maybe 4 or so people in the pub, the couple I could see, and myself. The waitress wasn't so busy that she didn't have time to stop and eat in the kitchen doorway more than once while I waited for my food. It turned out my order was sitting on the counter in "to go" containers for several minutes. The waitress brought me the food in the containers & told me it had been prepared to go. I said that it had been sitting there for a while (I had seen it on the counter several minutes before but didn't realize it was mine) and she said, not that long & didn't bring me utensils or condiments, just walked away. The food was barely warm and soggy has it had been sitting in containers on the counter at least 15 minutes, if not longer. When I went to pay and leave, I said to the waitress that she didn't need to be rude or angry with me for asking about when my order would be ready as it seemed a reasonable question, given that I had been waiting 30 minutes and people who came in after I ordered already had their food. She continued to have "attitude" towards me and said, well, we're busy, it happens. No apology. She had also screwed up my order, which I tried to discuss with her when I paid, but she didn't want to hear about that, either. If I didn't know that most of the people working there are pleasant and efficient, I would post a terrible review about the restaurant as no customer should ever be treated the way I was. They were NOT that busy, she blamed the fact there was only one cook on, and if she could not handle the view customers they had, maybe she should find a different job. She did, however, have time to snack in the kitchen.
