We have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in our area for awhile, and we were hoping this would be it. But sadly, we ended up being very disappointed.
The restaurant was packed, we were seated quickly, which was nice. I believe it was the manager who sat us, a bigger bald guy. But from there it went down hill. We sat for at least 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. The manager walked past multiple times without making eye contact.
When we finally got a waiter, we quickly gave our drink order and food order at the same time. They did bring the table waters and more chips.
Less than 15 minutes later our food arrived. No drinks. All the tables around us had their drinks delivered.
We asked our waiter to check on them, and he did so. He said they would be right out.
20 minutes later, we are finishing our dinner up and still no drinks. Bald guy keeps walking by and not making eye contact. The food ended up being okay at best. Not sure why it is so hard to find a decent Mexican restaurant around here.
Long story short. They brought our drinks out with our bill after we told them we did not want them any longer.
I get a busy house takes longer for service, but this place is good at not making eye contact and not keeping patrons happy. Will not be back.

If you are not in Folsom to watch the Intercollegiate Rowing Championships, make a detour to dine at La Calle. The Mexican food here is superb. The margaritas are large and smooth and come in numerous flavors. The pork carnitas would satisfy the guests at a state dinner in Mexico City. Shrimp tacos and those filled with Mahi-Mahi received raves from those among the twelve rowing parents who selected them. Our waitress was amiable, helpful, amusing and kind. The outdoor dining area is charming. Too bad we live 3,000 miles away. La Calle is a find.
