I wanted ramen for dinner. We are from out of town and this place was close. I looked at Yelp for best Ramen and Yama came up. What a mistake. Absolutely the worst Japanese food we have ever had. Paula had the Bento box and I had Ramen. As for the Ramen, the broth which is the most important part, was so weak. Much like water and soy sauce. The pork was like shoe leather and it tasted like it as well. I also ordered Gyoza but when I was asked if I wanted it steamed or fried red flags started going off because Gyoza is always steamed and then pan-fried.
Now for Paul's Bento box. The Tempura was ok but the sauce was extremely sweet. Not sugar sweet but more like artificial sweetener sweet gagged. The Teriyaki was sub par the chicken was dry and the glass of water we drank had a metal taste to it. Even the replacement water had the same metal taste.
The hostess or Manager which ever she was was very noncareing to our comments. She just smugly said "so sad" I could have slapped the crap out of her right there.
So the bottom line is do not bother going to or into Yama Sushi. It's definitely worth looking for somewhere else to eat. Absolutely not authentic Japanese food. I would be shocked if anyone in there had any Japanese blood in them. Run!!!!!!!!
Don't walk away from Yama Sushi.
