The clam chowder and fresh fish brought warmth against the cool marina breeze, while the friendly staff made the evening feel effortlessly welcoming. Sitting below street level, the soft hum of the bustling wharf mixed with the occasional call of passing fishing boats created a peaceful yet lively ambiance. Watching a sea otter glide by as the sun dipped low, I knew this was a rare find where every visit feels like coming home.

I've been going to the Sandbar and Grill for many years and I've never had a bad meal. The food is always delicious. The people that work there are very kind and nice to everybody. The view is great and I would highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Monterey. 💕💕💕💕

Took a 3 day mini vacation to Monterey and, upon our arrival there, we hit Fisherman's Wharf for lunch. Not being familiar with the restaurants we took a chance and tried the Sandbar & Grill. Boy, are we glad we did! We had the Calamari, which were (as my wife informed me) "steaks" and not those scrawny little pieces you get at other places. Delicious! We also had their fish & chips (best I've ever had), terrific onion rings, and the best was the crab cakes, which was "to die for"; no filler and all crabmeat with an outstanding seasoning. We enjoyed it so much that we went back on our last day there. On that day my wife had the Crab Louie Salad (which she loved) and I had to have another go at the crab cakes. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The place ain't fancy but the food is top of the line. Talked with several locals who raved about the place, and rightfully so. This is the first review that I have written for ANY establishment but I just had to do it. If you find yourself at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey go to the Sandbar & Grill. Try it, you'll like it!
