Driving through Corning on the 5, I decided to try the Flying Boat Restaurant after seeing it listed on my GPS, despite its unassuming exterior and old building vibe. Inside, the atmosphere felt simple and a bit awkward, but the generous portions of classic Chinese dishes like General Tso's chicken and broccoli beef pleasantly exceeded my expectations with their flavorful and satisfying taste. Though the restroom is outside and the interior shows its age, the friendly staff and consistently good food make this a reliable choice for a quick, hearty meal in town.

Corning, located just south of Red Bluff, may not be a destination I usually consider, but my recent visit to the Flying Boat Restaurant turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant offered decent lunch specials and tasty dishes like broccoli beef and general chicken. The food exceeded my expectations, making it a spot worth revisiting for a satisfying meal on the road.
