The innkeepers at the lodge we stayed at recommended this place, and it was a great find. The restaurant, recently remodeled, is just beautiful and one of the few modern spots in the area, in my opinion. We had a romantic fireside dinner on Christmas Day, with a view of the snow outside, and the owner, who served us, was friendly and gracious. The Lambshank and roasted onion soup we ordered were delicious. It's conveniently located near the Heavenly parking lot, which I wouldn't have discovered on my own since I'm not into skiing.

I was last there in ~ 1996. I came up from Houston each August after UH classes for 2 weeks to relax. Last time I was told after 6 days that they had a wedding party and I needed to move to another hotel. Ahah! Of course they would pay for the hotel. I stayed 1 night at the hotel on the strip and left for Houston the next morning. This was my last trip to Tahoe and retired the next year. The disappointment was that I had been coming each August for 9 years and to kick me out. Absolutely no!
