Am in znapi’s now. Have been waiting for 2.5 hours to be fed. Nothing!

Chef Jeff!
We had so much fun here last night. As a party of 9 one often has to lower expectations on service and sometimes food or the timing.
Matt our waiter was awesome and our food was fantastic! I started with chowder and followed with a group share of the trio of tuna sushi grade. It was spectacular. Next I had the lobster stuffed cod which is hand-shucked lobster stuffing and tender delicious cod.
All 9 of us were delighted with the service, the food and loved meeting chef Jeff !

So this is my first evening in Provincetown. I had been recommended this "fantastic" restaurant called Napis so I walked 30 minutes from my accommodation to find it. The food was delicious. The two waitresses were so friendly and helpful, they could not do enough for me :-)

However, as I was finishing up, I could hear and see Napi the owner verbally berating my lovely waitress over how she was "too friendly and too helpful" to me and I "looked too relaxed" for his liking!!! He was clearly drunk and talking very loudly. Being extremely offensive!!

He continued to criticise this poor girl for everything, started going on about how she was costing him money and she wasn't worth her wages, all this really rude stuff.

She had left my check and I had not realised I needed to sign the receipt. He was so horrible to her. Also complaining loudly about me, saying who did I think I was, "some blow in big shot"...well merry Christmas to you too sir!!

I eventually turned around and asked him what his problem was and why he was treating his staff so terribly in front of paying customers. This grumpy rude old drunken man became so verbally abusive to me. He said he's a business man and he can say and do whatever he wants to whoever he wants!! He was using profanities at me, a paying customer!! Telling me I should go find another restaurant because all the others were just as nice as his, that he can talk to his staff and customers whatever he chooses. He started being so sarcastic and aggressive, asking me who I was and what I'm doing in Provincetown, saying "probably more of them" (I assume he means a gay person!!)..he continued on this massive abusive drunken rant!!

I had ordered a cab and he told me I should go stand outside in the cold to wait for it, or go wherever the hell I want cause I'm nothing to him and he doesn't care a dime about me or anyone else.

By this stage, I was so upset. I was shaking. I have honestly never ever experienced someone working in the services industry to be so horribly abusive to and aggressive with his poor staff and customers.

When I left, some locals told me "that's Napi, he's a horrible nasty old man and so rude to newcomers"...how has this man run a business and restaurant in Provincetown for so many years?! If tonight's behaviour is because he is drunk, then he should not be getting drunk in his restaurant if that's the result....

I'm disgusted that I paid for a three course meal, drinks, coffees in this place and I was so friendly and courteous and this is how I was treated. I can walk away and never go back. But I honestly cannot believe how this restaurant and bar owner treats his lovely hard working staff. Very disappointing and upsetting experience. My welcome to Provincetown?!!!
