While vacationing in Charleston, my wife and I heard about Bacco and decided to try it. The restaurant was easy to find only minutes from the bridge into Mt. Pleasant. We were pleasantly surprised at the great food, friendly service and an atmosphere that reminded us of the small Tuscan restaurants of Italy. The soft shell crab and octopus salad appetizers were a delightful lead up of things to come. My pork shank over cannelini beans fell apart where I did not have to use a knife. The taste was so unique and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. My wife had the gnocchi which was so very light with a fresh tasting tomato sauce. A second and third visit to this exquisite piece of Italian gastronomy during our brief stay in Charleston did not disappoint. It was the simple presentation of a deliciously marinated steak which left no doubt that it was cooked perfectly to medium, the tenderness and tastefulness of a home made linguine in bolognese sauce and a traditional lasagna made with béchamel sauce that convinced us that Bacco would be on our itinerary whenever we return to Charleston.

My husband and I had dinner here the other night and it was great! He had the fillet and I had artichokes with goats cheese and the best eggplant parmigian I've ever had. Good Stuff!
