Recently my brother and his girlfriend wanted to go to Charleston with me and my girlfriend for a visit. They are flight nurses in the US Air Force who fly in and out of war zones everyday rescuing wounded soldiers and just wanted to go to Charleston for a good meal while they were home on leave. Long Point Grill came Highly recommended from some family and friends so we figured we'd give it a shot. First we ordered the mussels as appetizers, which were really good. My brother ordered the wahoo, I ordered the New York Strip, and my brothers girlfriend ordered the fillet. When my food came out my steak was cold as were my sides of broccoli and collard greens. My brothers fish was so dry and overcooked that he had to cut it with a knife! My brothers girlfriends fillet was also cold. Im not one of these people who likes to cause a hassle or send food back, but when you are paying that kind of money for food, you expect it to be at least cooked right or at least warm! We had to flag the waitress down, as she never once came and asked us how our meal was or refilled any of our drinks. She took our food back to the manager and chefs who then all began to glare over at us like we did something wrong. The manager, who seemed to be more concerned with checking out every woman in the restaurant, came over to the table with a smug look on his face. Very uncaring he looks at my brother and says,"Look man, whata ya want me to do? I mean if you want another fish I'll cook you the salmon instead and charge you the same price(saving a whole dollar) as the wahoo." My brother agreed and said he would just take the salmon. Meanwhile they took my plate and threw it in the microwave to reheat it, so my steak came back as well done instead of the medium rare I had ordered. It was so bland that I had to cover it in hot sauce so that I could even eat it. When my brothers salmon finally came out, everyone else was already finished eating and he had lost his appetite. We were just aggravated and ready to leave at this point. We kinda figured with it being a nicer restaurant that the manager would at least knock a little off of my brothers ticket, especially since we had had such a bad dining experience. When my brother tried to mention this to the manager and voice his feelings on the matter, the manager stood there with a smirk on his face and told us that 95% of his customers were repeat customers and that he didnt feel we deserved a discount on the meal! Basically he was telling us that he had so many repeat customers that he didnt care whether or not we were happy with ours. What a great way to treat our military. I can understand a restaurant having a bad night as far as the food goes, but we were treated with absolutely no respect and that is just not tolerable.
