Top Reviews of Two Mothers Foods

I am one of the owners of Two Mothers. Jack spent a lot of time pointing out our flaws, but we will learn from this! We will also keep buying our meat, eggs, beans, flours, honey, seasonal produce, and anything else we can find. Also: Sanitation licensing does not give nearly enough instruction about cross-contamination, and we take further measures. We have have three of five employees with food handling licenses, and one volunteer. Our volunteer hours total four hours a week.

We will work on our consistency and and check-out time, but if you want faster food, go to a fast food joint. On our worst day, our food only helps your body!

Is the food good? It can be. But it can also be less than mediocre. Inconsistency is something that they have seemed to master. That, along with moving EXTREMELY slow.

Some days, the food can be pretty good. Other days, it can be pretty bad. It could be because they use volunteers in their kitchen who are NOT certified food handlers.

SLOW...oh my! You will wait for at least 10 minutes just to give your order - and that's when no one else is there! Whatever is on the menu isn't necessarily what's "on the menu". So you will need to wait for someone to try to remember everything that is available (and then tell you they made a mistake and the item you want really isn't ready). If the phone rings and one other customer walks in, you'll be waiting at least another 10 minutes. I appreciate that "home-cooking" takes longer than fast food, but it shouldn't take 20 minutes to put your order in, another 20 for them to make it, along with another 15 minutes just to pay the bill! If you call ahead to place your order and expect it at 12:30, you might as well not show up until 1:00. It WON'T be ready!

As far as locally grown, organic food...are they referring to going to the local Whole Foods to pick up produce to make your meal? If you are going to eat here, you may want to ask them where they get their produce.

Worth the expensive price? I don't know about that. Their pasta primavera consists of lots of pasta with maybe half a cup of vegetables in it. Those veggies are mostly onions and carrots. At $9, I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Then you'd still have to get some kind of protein as a side in order to complete the meal.

If you do have a gluten intolerance, you may want to skip this place all together. With uncertified food handlers in the kitchen, you don't always know what you're getting.
