What can I say about Bananas Restaurant? You must be B-A-N-A-N-A-S to spend your money here (you should be singing the song in your head) . If you are at the Holiday Inn connected to it , I would walk blocks and blocks before ever going here again. The food was below average. The service was slow. The atmosphere is run down and tired, the sign colors are not even in sync, half the letters are in a different color!

We went here for Breakfast and for most of the time there was one server and host that seemed to like to spray and wipe things emphatically. We waited for a long time before anyone finally came to offer us beverages We finally got a carafe of coffee at our table that tasted absolutely awful. Its hard to describe but it had a bad after taste, it was probably burnt and of very low quality. One of the carafes that was brought to the table was broken. THe coffee was charged PER CARAFE instead of per cup at an OUTRAGEOUS and RIDICULOUS amount for crappy coffee. The carafes were not even brought to the table full nor as it brought to our attention the price before it was offered.

We also received a carafe of OJ without ordering it (but was charged for it later) it was offered as if it was complimentary for eating at the restaurant. though. The OJ was of a very low quality and very sugary. I'm sure they are charging as if it is fresh squeeze but is actually one of those cheap jugs you can buy at the grocery store.

I ordered the Eggs Benedict it was a BIG mistake. When the plate came out they were drenched in Yellow blah tasting MSG filled Hollandaise sauce, as in swimming and fighting for survival drenched. The aesthetic orange slice that adorned the plate was also fighting for survival under the sauce. The Canadian bacon was one thin slice that you could see thru if you held it up to the light. It was barely there. The hash browns were undercooked and mushy.

The worst part though was the English muffin which was NOT toasted. I immediately noticed this and politely asked the waitress if she could please bring me a toasted muffin. My mouth then dropped as she committed a #1 Chef Ramsey Sin by arguing with me about the toastiness of my toast. This muffin was RAW, it may have entered a toasted but it was not Toasted. In response to my request, she said to me "I toasted it, I put it in the toaster." I said back confirming "Ok but its NOT toasted." She continued to argue with me about it. I was so flabbergasted that she was actually arguing with me about TOAST! There was no brown on this English muffin not even a hint of it. I gave up the fight and didn't eat the muffin. I just wanted another muffin that was toasted to soak up the poached egg in.

Everyone else's meal was a 'meh'

I could have easily spend the same amount of money for a gourmet breakfast in downtown Chicago. This place is astronomically overpriced for the amount and quality of food your receive. Your local dive diner is one hundred times better than this place and probably won't argue with you about your toast

I've seen some rough reviews on different pages but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Hostess was very welcoming, service was very good and my meal was delicious. Nice hotel restaurant when you don't want to travel out into Tinley

Went there for Mothers Day Brunch...4 of us at $33 each....food was average at best...no food was labeled so you had to open every pan to see what was in there. Nothing special was offered only eggs and ham and roast....cost us $155 for 4 and my wife and kids had a terrible time.
