My boyfriend and I ventured to the Darien area for some medical appointments and decided to grab lunch. Wanting to steer clear of the usual chain eateries, we stumbled upon Teddy's. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by a young lad at the counter and an older gentleman, likely the owner. Opting for the cheesy Italian beef sandwiches and a jumbo cheese fry to split, we found the food to be flavorful with generous portions and reasonable prices. It was a pleasant change from the typical fast food options in the area.

Literally, THE BEST Italian Beef Sandwich, Anywhere! I travel here from out of state, at least monthly, for over 10 years. Practically every meal is had at Teddy's Red Hots in Darien. I recommend their Italian Beef Sandwich "Hot" (i.e.- with Giardiniera), krinkle-cut Fries with cheese, Pepper & Egg Sandwich, and Chicago Hot Dog! Service is fast, and the staff is friendly (and very little turnover). This place is a locals' secret! Ignore the menupix menu posted here; that's NOT the menu!
