I had very high hopes for Blue Rooster but unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. Let me start off by saying there was definitely a redeeming quality, the food the night of my wedding was really good. What we had to put up with in order to get to that point was almost not worth it.
Here's why...I tried planning the event months in advance and the owner of Blue Rooster said he usually does not plan events until 2-3 weeks before hand. I wanted to meet with him before that to get all the details worked out and done with. For the next two weeks, I emailed him to try and arrange this meeting, I did not hear a word from him. Finally he emails back and said he was in France and then was sick. After a few more days pass, he begrudgingly agreed to meet with me.
I called the morning we were to meet to confirm the address and he did not remember we had an appointment. He pulled it together and met up with me, we decided on the menu and it was over within an hour. Not once did he offer for us to taste the food he was going to serve. Also, during this meeting we told him more than 3 times that we were going to need some sort of speaker system as we were not hiring a band, we were using an Ipod. He said it would all be taken care of and not to worry about it.
So a week before the wedding I sent him an email to inquire about my final payment. He again did not respond for a few days and then four days before the wedding he sent me an email requesting that I pay $3500 of my bill in cash so he can pay his staff. I thought that was crazy! So I called him to tell him that I was not willing to pay in cash, I would drop a check off the very next day for the amount in full and he yelled at me. Seriously yelled and told me that he was doing so much for me and how appreciative I should be. He then demanded the $3500 in cash. I told him no. So the day of the wedding there no sound system. No way to play the music. We figured something out but it was a completely unnecessary level of stress that Blue Rooster added to the wedding.
For the amount of money that was charged, it was extremely disappointing to be treated the way we were treated. I will not use Blue Rooster in the future and I will tell everyone I know to beware.
