Words cannot explain how upset I am about Walkers closing. I moved to Clarendon Hills almost 3 years ago. I watched them build Walkers from the ground up. They worked SO HARD to bring LIFE to Clarendon Hills. When I first moved in the city it was essentially a ghost town. Walkers brought so much joy to many people. They accommodated the Covid lifestyle making everyone feel safe in any way shape or form. Every time I walked by everyone had a smile on their face. I brought nearly 60 people to Walkers. This includes a networking event, family and friends, and every single one of them raved about the food, drinks and ambiance. Walkers was different than anything I have every experienced in Claredon Hills and why? Because they wanted to bring a Chicago vibe to the suburbs and that’s exactly what they did. Every bit of detail of Walkers was Chicago and that’s what Clarendon Hills needed, to bring life, fun and excitement here. Jake, the manager that made Walkers what it is, is amazing at what he dose and poured his heart and soul to transform Walkers and essential this town. Everyone can see how hard it’s been for Clarendon Hills to keep anything afloat. Walkers was it! Because of them, these new shops opening would have a great fighting chance from all the people and positivity they brought it.
If anything can be done, to open Walkers back up, it should be. For the sake of Clarendon Hills and all folks from near and far that it brought joy too. LETS BRING WALKERS BACK!
