Arrived with four people about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time. We then had to wait forty minutes for a table to become available. Ten of those minutes may have been due to the hostess forgetting about us. Why take reservations? By the time we were seated, we already spent about sixty dollars on four drinks. I get you wish to make money, but wine and drinks are way overpriced considering the quality of the product. Appetizers: fried calamari was decent, but not sure giardiniera is the the best accompaniment. Fire Shrimp were a different story, combination of overcooked and oily. Main dishes were all over the place ranging from okay to bad. Chicken Vesuvio was a different rendition of what I am used to, but it wasn't horrible, nor was it close to great. Kona Filet was over cooked and on the verge of being cold. Asked for filet to be cooked medium rare, not a tinge of red meat anywhere. Walleye was just as disappointing. There was a taste that was just off. Not sure if it was the fish or the coating applied to the fish, but it was not good. Being a fish monger establishment, one would think they could come close to eliminating the bones when cutting out a filet. Nope, bone after bone, not a pleasant experience with that dish. Grouper sandwich was pretty good, at least my date said so, and there was no complaining while she ate it. Overall, they did a nice job with the building considering its prior condition. However, as a restaurant, the staff is confused, the drinks are overpriced, food was eghh and amateur at best leaving one and all to question the value after receiving our bill. There are more reliable places to go in town for the money and for quality. Beelows or Stoney River for steaks, DiPieros for Italian and seafood, Tacos El Norte for Mexican and fish tacos, and D&J for all around good food. Not sure what type of restaurant Vault232 is, but it needs to narrow down its identity and dial in its quality. Maybe they will come about. Who knows? From talk about town, I am not they only one who had such an experience, or who had higher expectations for the restaurant.
