Sooo.... did anyone else's kids dine at this restaurant this past Saturday for what the business titled "homecoming night"? If so, did anyone's kid get charged a 20% gratuity without the table being notified of the automatic gratuity? I guess that wouldn't be an issue if every guest that came through the door this past Saturday were being issued the same automatic gratuity without the serving staff notifying them that it was added. However, since my wife and her friends were also there and the same 20% wasn't applied to their bill that clearly wasn't the case. Our entire family have at one point worked in restaurants (including our kids dining at a separate table who currently do work in restaurants) and are well aware of how to tip properly. In addition, I've also learned from those experiences that it's pretty fuc*** up to target kids who might not know to look for the automatic gratuity who will also tip the traditional minimum of 20% or more depending on service. I believe there's a word in the English Language that accurately describes targeting a specific demographic with alternate rules, parameters and consequences. Hmm, one of those "tip of the tongue" kind of phrases. Oh yeah, DISCRIMINATION! Any other parents whose kids dined at this establishment on Saturday, October the 8th of 2022 might want to look at their kids bill if possible. If you didn't have the flexibility to have a parent present who was able to catch this business pulling some super shady bulls*** might want to give Management a call. There's a good chance they double dipped on your family's generosity and didn't have the courtesy to make them aware that there was an automatic gratuity already added. Again, if you want to add gratuity to a specific group of society in fear that they might not properly compensate your wait staff then that's messed up, but I guess it's your call. The absolutely ridiculous, dishonest and abhorrent business practice of preying on a young demographic who chose your business for a very special occasion is something that I hope one day puts you out of business. Anyone who's first thought about this is "well the kid should have looked at the bill closer" is a fuc**** hypocrite and doesn't have teenage kids (they all tend to be a little dumb these days). Especially since it wasn't a large party. It was two separate tables of four. Especially since I know you've probably been screwed over by the same maneuver at either this restaurant apparently or another one with no principles either.
