On a warm August afternoon, I found myself basking in the sunshine at a charming vineyard, sipping on wine and listening to the owner share her family's history with the estate. As she spoke about the challenges facing her business, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease at the weight of regulations and taxes burdening her livelihood. Despite the pleasant surroundings and delicious wines, the encounter left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I left with a heavy heart, vowing never to return.
