Stopping by Fred's Shanty in New London turned out to be a delicious surprise, with fried clam strips that were so good we almost fought over the last bite. The lobster roll stole the show too-my friend, a lobster roll connoisseur, declared it the best after sampling four others from fancy places. Between the crispy fries, generous portions, friendly staff, and a view of the bay that's hard to beat, this seafood joint nailed it from start to finish!

During my visit to New London, I made a spontaneous decision to grab lunch at Fred's Shanty, and boy, was it a good call! The fried clam strip plate we shared was absolutely divine - just the right amount for the two of us. The staff was super friendly, and even though we dined outside, the tables were spotless.
