Wow! I had heard about this place sitting at the bar of another Middletown resturant. When I finally had a chance to try it out with my daughter, I regretted waiting so long! At first, it looks a little dicey walking down the stairs into the basement dining room but once you are there you see the place is loaded with families celebrating special occasions together at large tables and couples alike just relaxing for a good meal. A totally casual atmosphere. And you better bring your appetite! The portions are about the largest I've ever seen...and I travel for business so have been to more restaurants than I can even remember. I think my wife and both daughters could probably split a meal three ways and still have left overs! For me, I'd rather take home my leftovers for two more lunches. At first glance, I thought the prices were a little higher than average until I realized what I got for that price. Essentially three good meals! Each meal is accompanied by a nice salad, baskets of bread with olive oil and Italian spices. Good quality fresh ingredients- you can tell Chef Tomasso puts a lot of care into his craft. I can't wait to go back!

we were disappointed. The menu is italian, with a good variety, prices very reasonable, UNLESS you order the 'specials'. No prices given by the waitress for the specials, they are not listed anywhere, but they ended up being $5-6 more than anything else on the menu- we found out when we got the bill. My husband sent back his tilapia, and they readily exchanged it- but charged us for tilapia-$26! My meal was a huge portion, way too much for one person,(the waitress should have said it was enought for 2-3 people) and i don't mind some leftovers, but i over paid for this 'special', and didn't need to take so much home. It wasn't that good. I don't think we'll go back- there are many more good italian places in Middletown.
