04/25/2017 - cyn
Had dinner last night at the Corpus Christi location. Our orders were cooked perfectly and our waiter Eric was very attentive. We weren't in a big rush so he gave us all the time we needed to order and enjoy our appetizer and drinks. Daytime atmosphere is always great when we go. However, last night the lights dimmed around 7:00 and it was difficult to see. Those booths that are directly under a light faired well; however, we were at a table in the middle section where there is no direct overhead lighting. The light was out at one table where a couple and their two young daughters sat, leaving them to dine in darkness. We asked the manager if he could turn the lights up a bit. He said no problem. The lights were turned up and you could hear a "Yes!", "Thank you!" and an "I can see!" from our section. That didn't last long as a few seconds later the lights were dimmed down again. The manager came by and stated other customers were complaining it was too bright. I informed him that when the lights came on, people in this section were saying they could see. He simply said, "Sorry." and walked away. (Not the greatest way to win a customer like me over.) I immediately commented to my husband that this would be the last time we had DINNER there, to which he immediately agreed. While we love the Outback, we will make sure we dine in before 7 p.m.
