Welcome to El Corazon des Tejas where Dallas Tex-Mex was born! Noted as the ""Real Deal"" by D Magazine and nominated for Best Tex-Mex by the Dallas Observer, we've been serving up fresh Texas-accented Mexican dishes since 1955. Being family-owned and operated over the course of three-generations, our cozy restaurant has been in the same building, adorned with the same artwork since we opened many years ago. Don't forget to come by for our Tuesday-Friday happy hour and all day Saturday as everybody knows that the Heart of Texas is on fire! Offering a variety of beverages that sooth the soul, you'll find nothing but 100% agave tequila in our margaritas! Craft beer from Four Corners Brewery, Mexican cervezas, wells or top shelf cocktails, remember to ask your server about our seasonal beverage specialties featuring local, fresh fruit margaritas. From our family to yours, we are looking forward to serving you the freshest Tex-Mex and Mexican dishes that you'll find in Dallas. It's our pride and joy and can't wait to see you.

06/26/2014 - Delicious food, great service!!
We went there for lunch yesterday, the first time since the restaurant changed from Tejano. We were seated and immediately brought a basket of delicious, thin and crispy chips and a decanter of salsa with bowls. The salsa was good, but it could have been spicier. But I love my food spicier than most, so I cannot really complain about that. We ordered a cup of queso, and it was wonderful!!! Cheesy, gooey and very tasty! I ordered the cheese enchilada dinner special, which was $4.50. I was served a huge plate of very cheesy enchiladas covered in a thick meat gravy. I wish I had taken a picture of the plate, it was really something to see. The beans had a wonderful seasoning with a hint of bacon taste. The rice was rice, what can you really do to rice? It even had a small side salad on the plate complete with tomatoes and queso blanco crumbles. The dinner was delicious. I have told several people about this place, and we will definitely be back!!
