Every neighborhood worth its salt has a local "joint". The decor isn't fancy; that's not why it's there. The food and the atmosphere are key. On the East Side of Fort Worth, that joint is Charlie's. There is a caricature of the owner on the sign out front (a former Pizza Inn); step inside and you'll find him tossing dough and manning the ovens himself. No absentee owner here! The menu has all the traditional favorites. The pizza is homemade in the best sense of the word. All ingredients are fresh, fresh, fresh. The salad bar is well stocked with a good assortment of condiments. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. Couples mingle with young families, baseball and softball teams eat here to celebrate a big win... you get the picture. Come out to Charlie's "joint" anytime. Bring your appetite.
