The food has always been very good and seasoned. They forget to add seasoning to mix beef and chicken fajita meat. The rice and beans always just a little warm. Tastes great when I microwave at home. The building needs remodeling in both mens and womens restrooms. Need new flooring throughout, better tables, chairs, and updated booths. I am sure the Kitchen could be remolded as well with better warming system to keep food more hot. I love this little restaurant, but needs these improvements. I am sure the cooks, waitresses, and customers would appreciate the upgrades as well.

The parking lot needs to be cleaned more often of trash and old cars sitting in parking spaces in the back of the restaurant.

This would make your restaurant to stand out and atttrack more customers with smiles.

God Bless and I hope these changes come to life.

We were told to sit ourselves when we arrived. The tables we walked by looked clean, but after sitting we noticed food on the table and had to ask for it to be wiped off. After waiting almost 10 minutes, a waitress stopped by and asked us if we were ready to order. I said "no, but how about some chips, salsa and tea?' The chips were tasty but a little thick for my taste. The salsa tasted almost like Pace, and had absolutely NO spice to it. They were out of what my husband wanted. I ordered a combination plate of crispy beef taco and cheese enchilada. The beef taco had water pouring out of the end while I tried to eat it, the meat had no flavor and the shell was soggy. The cheese enchilada was made with a flour tortilla instead of a corn tortilla, and was decent tasting. The rice was the same as most mexican restaurants, and the beans also had no seasoning. We waited 10 minutes after we finished eating and never saw a waitress. Finally, another waitress walked by and we flagged her down to ask for the check and a refill of our tea. The only bright side was that our check was around $10.00. But there is a reason they say you get what you pay for. Needless to say, I will not be back and did not leave a tip.

Best Tex Mex for the Least Dinero - 5 Stars

I'm the first to review this place, huh? Don't understand how, because when the wife and I went there for lunch today, it was packed! This smallish restaurant has been here in one of the less desirable areas of Randoll Mill Road (near Cooper) for like decades and I have never gone in because of the run-down looking exterior.

Confucius said: BIG MISTAKE TO JUDGE A BOOK BY COVER. (Or was that Charlie Chan?)

When, when, will I learn? Desolate am I, thinking of all these decades I could have been enjoying the great Tex Mex food like I had today.

The lunch special on Friday was Fajitas for $5.99. And I'm not talking those crummy little portions other restaurants palm off on you. This was like a dinner portion at On the Border. It came with the usual refried beans, rice, salsa and guacamole setup. (NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR THE GUAC!) Also, we got a small cup of Charro Beans as an appetizer along with our chips and salsa. Choice of corn or flour tortillas. All for only $5.99! The regular price was only $6.99! (I'm using too many exclamation marks, but hell, I'm excited!!!!!)

Wooo. Did I forget to mention that the food was delicious! (Drat, there goes that sneaky exclamation mark again). The chicken and beef fajitas were just slightly less good as On the Border, but at half the cost.

My wife had a pork tamale, overflowing with tender chopped pork. Also a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. They met her high standards, and the Lord knows (as do I) those standards are high and hard to please.

So why no 5 Stars? Well, as I said, the place is a little old and run down and the bathrooms are teeny-tiny. Also, their hot sauce, although very flavorful, didn't have the heat of some I've had. So no 5th Star for now. However, after I go back and try some other items, my much sought after 5 Star rating just might be within their reach.
