Called to have order delivered and was told they do not deliver, but the window signage says "Free Deliery". Asked the cashier about that and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

I don't care what you order there, it is great. You get so much for your money and the food is wonderful!

I will not comment on the food but the way my family and I were treated last night I will never eat there again. We walked in it was semi busy we found an empty table ordered our food and sat down to wait. the wait was pretty long but our food kept coming out one item at a time. when finally all the items were there and we could start to eat there was no ketchup. My girlfriend got up and asked the cashier for some ketchup, she looked at her and with a huge attitude said I will get you some when I have time, she came back to our table a little ticked off, but we waited ten minutes, our food is starting to get cold and I got up and asked again; I was told we do not have any ketchup bottles ready right now, you will have to wait. I asked for a manager and was told there was not one there. When I asked for the name of the manager she told me I will not give you his name. In summary go to Island burger if you like rude treatment from snotty teen agers and grown men who ignore when you speak to them.

This place is great, The burgers here are some of the best I have ever had, The service isn't bad by any means, The inside of the restaurant doesn't look like the palm but if that is what you are going for you are probably coming to the wrong spot. It is what you would expect from a burger joint, They take your order and get your food to you in a timely manner. The burgers here are the big draw, they are wonderful,Large pattys on fresh buns with fresh toppings. They have all sorts of burgers to choose from. For around 10 bucks a person you get any of their great burgers, frys or onion rings and a drink, That's only a few bucks more than you would spend at McDonald's for a burger the size of an Oreo cookie.I will definitely be back!

Probably the best burger I've ever eaten. Juicy, loaded with toppings and absolutely enormous. I feel faint just THINKING about it. My top two recommendations are the Big Island burger and the Jungle burger!

I came to Mesquite to visit some friends from Clear Lake, Texas. While deciding what to have for lunch, I did a search for the best burger in Mesquite....Burger Island pops up. Read some reviews, and decided this is the place we should try. My friend here, had never been to Burger Island.

We arrive at the location in Mesquite on Friday, shortly after noon. Place is busy, takes a few minutes to get our order placed, but heck...it's a good place, so a busy place is a good sign.

Anyways, my female friend and I place our order and look for a place to sit. We sit on a bench near the register, a BENCH, not a table. We were hoping someone would finish up before our food was delivered to us and we would have a place to sit.

I noticed one of the booths had a pile of paper work, an open apartment listing guide along with two empty cups. I asked the cashier if anyone was sitting there because I had not seen anyone at the table in awhile and there were no other open tables.

With a, now try to follow this...."TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF SNOTTY PRETEEN ATTITUDE", she states "It's my stuff, but I guess I can move it".

I am thinking, are you serious? You have limited seating here, in the middle of a lunch rush, you have your crap spread out having your customers sitting on a bench? Are you not working? Why would you have a table, in the middle of a restaurant?

But being the polite person I am, I only smile and say thank you.

OK, so we are sitting eating our lunch, and my friend gets this strange look on her face. I ask whats up? She tell me to turn and look at the register. There stands the young girl along with another male employee, possibly the manager or owner...

She tells me he was asking her (the cashier), using is body language to point at us, why we were sitting at that table? (Guess he was looking for an apartment too.)

My lunch companion teaches the deaf adult sign language, so she can read lips across the room with 100% accuracy.

Needless to say, that upset her a little.

I must say, I am very disappointed in this place. Speaking for myself, my next trip to Mesquite will never include Burger Island again. Speaking for my friend, a long time resident of Mesquite, she will also never return.

This may sound trivial, but there is no need for attitude in front of customers. Not to mention, twice with the same customers.

As far as the burgers go, I am not commenting. Could be the best burger on the planet...when service sucks...well, I'd rather go to McDonald's, at least they "Love to You Smile".
