My husband and i dined here a few years ago and it was wonderful. Great food, service and location.
We decided to head back for our anniversary dinner this evening and had reservations for the two of us as well as our young daughter. Our reservations were for 6pm. It was a very chilly and rainy evening so my husband dropped us in front of the restaurant and he went to find parking. I tried to go inside but the door was locked. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 6pm reservation. I could see wait staff through the window so i waved to them to see why the door was locked. A gentleman looked at us then pointed to his watch and shook his head indicating they were not yet open then he and the others turned away. I then knocked on the window and motioned for them to come to the door. Two gentlemen opened the door and i told them we had reservations for 6 and asked them why they were not allowing us inside, especially when it was obvious we were cold and standing in the pouring rain. We were told they were not allowed to let us in because they were not yet open. At this point i pointed to my 7 year old daughter and told them we just drove a long distance and had no idea that arriving early for a reservation would mean we wouldn't be allowed inside. One of the men said 'EVERYONE knows that you can't come inside before we open." At that point i saw my husband circling the block and told the men we were leaving so we could get back in the warm car. Once in the car however i told my husband there was NO WAY we were going back there so we called Landini Brothers down the road to see if they were accepting reservations. Long story short, we headed over to Landini's and after my husband dropped us there and proceeded to park, he called Geranio to let them know we were canceling our reservation. No sooner had my husband opened his mouth than the person on the other end start yelling at him. He told him that my daughter and i were 'wild banshees' because we were 'banging' on his window. We were calling them to be COURTEOUS to let them know we were not coming back and on top of the already rude exchange that took place, he was now calling our 7 year old who NOT ONCE opened her mouth or went anywhere near a window a 'wild banshee'.
All i can say without making this too much longer is we will never dine at that place ever again. I suggest if you have 6pm reservations that you do NOT make an attempt to try to gain access ANY earlier....maybe 'everyone' already knows that, but we sure had no idea.
