Do not go to this restaurant under any circumstances. We came here out of desperation after a long day at the zoo and were subjected to the most horrible restaurant experience of our lives, bar none.
Service was excruciatingly slow, and when we finally got our food, it was nothing like what was described in the menu. Spicy, succulent porkchops? Sorry, we only have dry, bland ones with cold, chalky mashed potatoes. As we picked at our food, the manager stopped by and asked how our food was. We said that actually, we weren't enjoying it all because the porkchops were overcooked and sides were cold. The manager jumped all over us and said that they have to cook porkchops for x amount of time and that of course our food is cold if we left it sitting there and didn't eat it first. As if that wasn't bad enough, when the check finally came we asked if we could get some sort of a discount because we were so unsatisfied. The manager came back, stuck his head in my boyfriend's face and demanded what he wanted. He proceeded to say that he didn't believe what my boyfriend was saying and called him a liar before storming off and leaving the problem unresolved. We sat around for a good 20 minutes deciding what to do and ultimately payed the -ssh-l- and left. I add tentatively that other reviews on Yelp! described similar behavior toward other African-American patrons...
IN SUMMATION: Not only was the food abysmal and service slow, the management was hostile, unhelpful, and insulting. Come here if you want to be overcharged and verbally assaulted.

My husband and I were strolling in the Woodley Park neighborhood and for dinner decided to dine at the Woodley Park Cafe. The food was so delicious. I moved to DC from NJ 5 years ago and had yet to find a place that makes a good marinara sauce like home. Lucky for me I found it!!!!!!! I had the Crusted Parmesan Chicken and my husband had the Blackened Chicken Fettuccini. Also, they have a fabulous bar and wonderful dessert menu. It’s the perfect neighborhood restaurant across the street from the Woodley Park Metro. I finally found a place that feels like home every time we go.
