The daily menu is exceptional and always changing in variety. This is the closest to authentic Italian food in the Washington, DC area. The preparation of the fishes and pasta are excellent! very family friendly too>.

OUTSTANDING! If you haven't visited this restaurant you're missing out! The food is superb, the service is very nice, and the ambience is truly unique. All food is freshly prepared and it shows. It's a WONDERFUL dining experience and the price is reasonable.

Sette Bello is truly a culinary gem. The food is authentic Italian with a broad selection. The sea food dishes are especially satisfying. The pasta is always al dente and homemade. Thier chocolate tart desert is the best one I have ever tasted. In addition, the service is always friendly and responsive. My family has dined their dozens of times already and we plan on continuing our regular visits for a tasty and fulfilling italian meals.

Dear Sirs,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with regard to several of my visits to Sette Bello Restaurant of Arlington, Virginia.

A number of times, since the opening of Sette Bello in the fall of 2005, I have been served wine which seemed to have gone off. I am pretty sure because it happened more than just 1 or 2 times. The price was also an issue for such low-quality wine of unknown origins. Besides, the red wine we were served was too cold – it had 55ºF, straight from the storage room. A good restaurateur should know that that temperature is good for storage of red wine, but not for serving it.

I’m a bit dissatisfied with the seafood pasta which we ordered that day – it was not good, either. There was no sauce at all, and it consisted of only pasta with a few clams. Two of the clams were not open, and there were very few mussels, without herbs or parsley.

It is not all. Your grilled calamari seafood was too salty and – as you probably know – a lot of people have to watch their blood pressure these days.

What is interesting, the antipasto platter came different each time we went there! Shouldn’t a dish taste the same every time it is eaten?

As for our fish dish, a whole branzino (striped sea bass) had no bones and was also was very small and dry for the price of $24.00

After our main course, we received a cheese platter which is not on the menu. We were served 4 slices of inexpensive cheese with no fruit accompaniment, for which we were charged $12.00 + tax and tip. What is more, I was charged for Johnnie Walker Black label $14.50 and they even tried to charge me for Courvoisier XO Cognac $45.00! It is more expensive than the Ritz Carlton in New York City!

Finally, the ice cream dish which I tried had no decoration. It was a very plain ice cream dish and yet it cost as much as more decorated desserts in other fine Washington restaurants.

With respect to the service, I do not find it necessary to be asked each time I come for lunch if I would like bread or not – it is a part of every meal in the USA, so why asking?! The same goes for water.

Summing up, I consider ever going back to your restaurant again. I expect to receive your sincere apology and some explanation concerning the above. If not, I will start warning my friends and business partners against going to your place on the bases of my bad experiences.

Great Italian restaurant. The food was great and its quite a trendy atmosphere. Its probably ideal for a casual business lunch or drinks after work, and a great first date place due to the atmoshpere and food. Love it!

Excellent food, gracious service. I had Spaghetti allo scoglio that was perfect, not over cooked. My wife had Grigliata mista, loved it. Great bar area. We arrived early and there were few people, the absence of other patrons gave us pause. By the time we left at 8:30 the restaurant had filled up, the bar was a meeting place for young professionals. I will return

I was very well impressed. This restaurant offers great Italianfood and strong wine list. They do everything well from start to finish. Fancy, but not overly expensive, you can either have a romantic dinner or a nice group outing.
