I've been eating here since '95, and after a rough patch with new owners, it's back to being awesome. The cheesesteaks are super authentic and honestly the best I've had outside Philly-huge slices, great steak, and the bread never gets soggy. I came hungry, ordered the large Claymont cheesesteak, devoured it, and can't wait to come back for more.

Been a regular since '95 and let me tell you, this joint has been through some ups and downs with new owners, but it's back to its former glory! The cheese steaks are legit, closest thing to Philly you'll find outside of the city. Generous portions, fair prices - can't go wrong. First time trying a cheesesteak outside of NY and let me tell you, it hits different in the Philly area where it all began. Claymont Steak Shop - a true OG spot with massive slices and subs packed with all the goods. The steak and cheese combo was fire, no soggy bread in sight. Counting down the days until I can hit this place up again!
