My fiancé and I were looking for places to have our rehearsal dinner when we came upon Tasteful Dinners. The menu looked great online and everything seemed great! When we went to meet with the owner he was dressed very unprofessionally for a meeting (pajama pants, etc) and had us come into his office and sit on his disgusting couch. We talked through with him what a rehearsal dinner would look like at his establishment and he had us look through the menu. He had us choose food items we would like to have, but never gave us prices for any item-hard to choose what to get for 55 people when you don't know how much things cost. After we chose some options he said he would get a quote together and e-mail it to us. A week and a half later we still haven't seen a quote. We both felt gross coming out of there and shaking his hand. Needless to say we've already found another choice for our rehearsal dinner.

After hearing a radio add for this establishment my fiancé and I decided to give Tasteful Dinners a chance at catering our wedding. We wanted to keep the catering bill under 5k and after receiving the quote for a 200 person event their price was acceptable.
After contacting the establishment we had a sit down meeting and tasting with the owner. The food that we sampled was reminiscent of good old fashion hometown cooking. The roast beef and mash potatoes reminded me of our grandmothers cooking and the lasagna was superb. The pork loin was a little bland and dry for my taste. The dessert was a mouth watering triple chocolate brownie with raspberry sauce.
After filling ourselves with this wonderful food we started discussing the quote with the owner.
CAUTION TO ALL: The quote we received before we meet had service, maintained and tear down included in the price but after discussing the hours of our event the owner said he did not include this in the quote and would need to adjust the price which rose significantly. We were now exceeding our budget. We discovered that his quote (in small print) was for only 150 people and when we asked him to raise the guest count to 200 to be on the safe for budgeting he would only raise it to 165 and insulted my fiancé by asking when the last time she catered an event was. We asked him to remove the pork loin from the three meat course and the desserts to bring the price down yet it only dropped the price by $9.00
I strongly caution engaged couples to be aware of all dealings with this company; review every detail no matter how small before entering into a contract. It is my strong belief that this the way that the company attracts people and then locks them into a higher price that was initially not agreed upon. The food is very good but this company needs someone to run the "front of the house" while the chef stays in the kitchen. To say the least we will not be using Tasteful Dinners for our event.
