Growing up in Hiland Park/Oak Park, I've always loved Hiland Bakery for its delicious and beautifully decorated cakes, classic fried donuts with just the right balance of sweetness, friendly and attentive staff, wide variety of baked goods including savory options, and the warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying coffee or taking a cookie decorating class.

This bakery in Des Moines is a total must-visit for anyone who loves sweets! I grew up loving their treats and was thrilled to find the new owners are keeping up the great quality, especially the donuts and custom cakes.

I have ordered Hiland Bakery through GrubHub multiple times for the workers at MercyOne downtown Des Moines... Everyone is so impressed with the pastries, croissants, donuts and special care taken with every item! Thank you for doing what you do and helping us treat those we love...ready for 3rd shift tonight & in my fridge soon!!!
