06/09/2010 - Disappointed!
The 3 piece fish and chips dinner was rather a disappointment.
The fish (which they claim to be "world famous") had a peculiar taste and smell (some odd seasoning or ingredient in the batter).
The pieces of fish (supposedly cod) were rather small and oddly shaped (the lake perch at the next table were about the same size). The portion of chips was very small indeed. The coleslaw was very tasty but again the portion was very very small. The one cup of tartar sauce I was served was only about half full, and the menu indicates additional sauces are $.40 each.
The dinner was served in a small plastic basket with a plastic fork (no knife).
The restaurant brags about their cleanliness, and indeed the floors and tables did appear clean. The condiments on the table however were greasy and sticky! Also, even though the ketchup bottle clearly states "refrigerate after opening", it sits out on the warm tables all day (and night ?) long.
For $9.25 there are much better fish dinners to be had!
