On this Halloween morning my family and I decided to go to Tina’s Place in Allen Park on Allen Rd. for breakfast.
Upon arrival we sat down and decided what to order, I got my usual “Southern Omelette”, my daughter had pancakes and ham, and my wife had changed her mind on breakfast and tried lunch here, a chicken pesto sandwich.
Well when the food came, mine came first then, then my daughter and wife’s three minutes later. My food and my daughters was adequate, but my wife’s chicken pesto sandwich did not look very good, and my wife also did not like the taste. I finished up my meal, but my wife had barely touched hers. I asked, “What was wrong?” Our waitress did not ask us one thing while we were there “Kim” I believe. Normally she gives outstanding service, but today I think she was at the end of her shift and was ready to go. Regardless, my wife was not happy with her meal. I tried and tried to get “Kim’s” attention. Finally getting the busboy to grab her. She begrudgingly came over and didn’t ask anything, and just looked at us, my wife said she was unhappy with her meal.
“Kim” then just looked at us sourly, and stormed behind the cook area. I can clearly hear what they are saying, and neither the owner “Jen” or “Kim” believed there was anything wrong with my wife’s sandwich. I then here Jen, yell out “Whatever”. The waitress “Kim” then comes back out and just leaves the bill on the table, as to say leave, and leave now.
I then am extremely disappointed as I usually have had decent experiences here. I had to ask what the deal was. My wife really wanted something else to eat, or to ask if there was any other options for alternatives in this situation. There clearly wasn’t as evidenced by our waitress, “Kim” dropping off the bill and then looking away quickly.
I then went up to the cashier, I asked for the owner “Jen” to come over. “Jen” was clearly annoyed, I assume because someone questioned one of her meal selections. I asked why we had gotten such treatment, “Jen” said “the chicken is the same everyday”, I explained we had not eaten lunch here before, and my wife did not like it, she said “whatever” again. I then asked, why I was getting such treatment, and that I clearly heard her say to “Kim” “Whatever” in the background when my wife initially notified our waitress “Kim” that she did not like the meal. She then said “Whatever” again! I then said I would never be back, and that I was disappointed in her treatment, and her response “Whatever”, she then repeated “Whatever” repeatedly as if she were a child trying to torment a younger sibling.
Not once did I yell, scream, say anything over the edge to get this kind of treatment. I want others in the community that in this day and age if “Jen” does not want my business she probably does not want yours! We in this community have many choices and I fully recommend that no one visit this establishment until I receive an apology.
