Having savored sandwiches from various establishments, one particularly stands out for its longstanding presence in the community. The "Slurp" sandwich, consisting of corned beef, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing on an onion roll, has been a lifelong favorite of mine. Accompanied by crispy onion rings and nostalgic sips of Kool-Aid, the flavors took me back to cherished memories of childhood. The deli's recent modern renovations have only enhanced the experience, offering a diverse menu of deli classics at reasonable prices in a historically significant setting.

Worst place to buy a corned beef sandwich. After Maxine sold the business to the new owners, they raised the prices and cut down on the beef. They use rye bread that taste and looks like white bread.
I started buying sandwiches from Maxine & Bernice years ago and they never failed to serve huge sandwiches and smiles. My oldest is 42 and has been going to Plaza Deli since he was 8.
So disappointed that the new owners do not offer the services Maxine offered. I really feel sorry for all the old customers.

Premium food. I love the cornbeef and Uncle Rodney's Waffles with wing dings. The customer service was excellent. The food was hot and I did not have to wait a long time to receive my order. A new Hot Spot for good food in The "D".
