Indi Spice is a gem... finding a restaurant that specializes in South Indian food is hard to find! Oh, for those who don't know, south Indian food equals vegetarian and non vegetarian. This small restaurant located in a strip mall delivers some darn good dishes. Order dosai, poori, thali, palak paneer, butter chicken, honey garlic gobi,Lamb rogan josh or any of the curries.. you won't be disappointed.
No, it is not exactly the flavor that I remember from my days in India but it definitely offers some good Indian food. I take that back, the decor, semi-dim lighting, and service is excellent.

My favorite Indian restaurant in metro Detroit! High quality ingredients and fresh spices make the food consistently authentic and delicious! The flavors are strong and aromatic--just like I expect from Indian cuisine--but not overwhelming or overpowering.
Yet another strip mall restaurant. India Spice is a good Indian restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere with a huge menu offering both northern and southern dishes. Favorite dishes:Butter chicken, mutter paneer, palak paneer, malai kofta, of course the chicken tikka masala ,chicken vindaloo, any of the biryanis, and the chicken egg noodles.
Good food--I recommend samosas, honey garlic gobi and onion bhajji. The lunch buffet is a good option as well, since you'll get to try a variety of their dishes. It's always very busy during the weekdays with people on lunchbreak. They serve tandoori chicken and naan with the lunch buffet. Food was fresh. Spice levels were right-on. Plenty of chutney, pickles and chilis on the side.
At dinner, I'd recommend ordering your dish Thali style, which includes a veggie curry, raita, and a dessert. While it amounts to a lot of food, it can easily be shared between two people. Thali only costs a couple dollars more than a la carte, so I think Thali is more worthwhile.
The staff is always friendly, and always attentive - my glass of water is always full. The food is always consistently good.
