I hate to leave bad reviews of local businesses but this was my 3rd visit in 9 months and each one has gotten worse. Hopefully management reads these and takes note.
The good - the drinks are good, and servers are lovely, so it was a bit infuriating to see who we assumed to be one of the owners behaving so atrociously and putting their jobs at risk.
Our party of 4 all arrived separately - no one was asked for vaccine info. There's no one at the door so no checking passports or scanning codes. Our drinks came out pretty quickly, we ordered some basic appetizers - they were out of calamari (such a staple that was a shock...) we replaced it with nachos with some hesitation. When I ate here in August they brought out a platter of nachos that were completely black from being burned and ice cold. Well, it was cold, burnt nachos again for the win but they found a way to make them worse. They came on a salad/side plate - which included a little bowl of salsa, so it was like 10 nacho chips... I asked the waitress if there was some kind of mistake and was told "the menu changed". Yikes. Pickle chips were so soggy they were inedible. Wings were cold but, how do you mess up wings really...
The manager did approach our table asking why we didn't have our food as he had "brought it out a while ago". We could tell from the temperature or lack thereof. The most offensive part of the evening though was definitely the owners behaviour.
There was a dirty blonde/reddish longer haired gentleman with a beard who presented as one of the owners sitting with a group of women celebrating their birthday, visibly intoxicated at 8:30 pm. He made multiple rounds around the restaurant with NO MASK, leaning into peoples tables and over the bar. He made 3 stops at our tables - with his mask around his neck, and very drunk, leaned his face between my friend and I with is hands on our back asking us to sing happy birthday to his lady friends. I was a bit shocked. Being touched by a drunk bar owner would be inappropriate pre-pandemic but being that close to us with his mask around his neck was really uncomfortable.
I really hope this place makes it, their serving staff deserves some financial stability but the food situation really needs some life support and if the owner(s) care about this place, he needs to be professional. I've worked at a lot of bars and had owners come in for a night cap or to drink with their staff after close but not to be obnoxiously drunk at 8:30 on a Friday night when people are eating dinner.
