I went to Al's for breakfast on my birthday last Friday. I had to have them replace dirty utensils three times. My daughter ordered Chicken Fried Steak and I ordered the New York Strip Steak. Both Came with the same sides(hash browns, eggs, and toast). My daughters chicken fried steak was a breaded hamburger patty, with a beige paste gravy that tasted like paste. We asked the waitress, who was very nice, to change it to the steak that I had, since the difference in price was only a dollar. The cook obviously had an attitude, because he did not season her steak and it was rare in places when it was supposed to be medium. If it was seasoned well, like mine, she would not have needed steak sauce. She asked for steak sauce, which has been free since we have been eating there. We were charged for three meals, when we only ate two, and for a small plastic to go cup of steak sauce. When we questioned the waitress, she went back and inquired of the cook/owner. He said that he did not have a separate charge for the meat and we could take hash browns, eggs, and toast home to cover the third meal. We did not want a third meal and the food, except for my steak, was not great. They only had one kind of jelly for toast, grape. We hate grape! Needless to say, WILL NEVER GO BACK! The waitress and the lady she was training were the best part about the service. They can do better. He should not be in business, because he seems to be stressed for cash, has a nasty attitude, can't make many things, and what he can cook depends on his mood. If you send something back expect to pay for an extra meal and for it not to be good, because you hurt his little feelings! Don't eat here!
